Supposedly, the nuscience abatement program is to monitor this situation but rarely does.
In the summer yards are not mowed especially abandon homes.Junk cars are left in driveways etc.
Trustees need to monitor and enforce these problem properties at all times.

Housing prices in the neighborhoods off of Feder Rd. have risen, but could benefit even more with improved infrastructure for biking. Today's families are looking for walkable/bikable neighborhoods and if you move to the Feder Rd. area you are sacrificing that. Bike paths on Feder would be beneficial in a number of ways. See this article for an argument for bike paths. http://www.americantrails.org/resources/economics/economic-benefits-trails-macdonald.html How can we make this happen in our community? I want to bike with my kids to get Handel's ice cream, people!

Each quarter, have a township cleanup day where companies that collect bulk trash, tires, paint, electronics, all park in a central area for residents to bring their items at no charge. Or even better, poll the neighborhoods to see if each household would pay $10 and put large trash items at the curb for a community dumpster day. The collected fees would pay for the trash vehicle. Many homes have patios and fence lines with piles of trash that could just be a resident not wanting to haul away.

We have received a great new bike trail leading through out community. However, currently only those right on the path in the Hall & Norton corridor have safe access to the trail. I live in the West Chester subdivision and in order to get to the trail, I have to go out on Norton road from Hall to the railroad tracks. There is only a small gravel berm sloping to a drainage ditch on the west side and a small gravel berm on the east. For approximately 50 feet on the north side of the track there isn't any berm on the west side. Also on the west side, there are a lot of trees and overgrowth which conceal garbage has collected in. Can we get sidewalks to make this fantastic area accessible to more of our community

So what is going on with this project? Is it happening? When? I feel like the trustees haven't informed the businesses or residents of Prairie Township that are affected by this project effectively.

Next 4th of July could we establish a recommended personal fireworks celebration day in the township?
I do not want to infringe on the rights of people to enjoy their personal fireworks displays, but it seems they should have some responsibility to veterans suffering from PTSD, pet owners of anxious pets, and others.
I have literally had to sit in the bathroom with my pets with white noise playing from June 30 to July 4th because every night there has been a constant barrage of fireworks for three hours every night.
It is incredibly irresponsible and I am asking for the Township to ask our residents to celebrate on one night indicated by the township.

This is Shawn Thomas, the Rec and Parks chairman for the Westland Area Commission. I live in Westchester and frequently drive past the park on Galloway Rd. I've frequently observed people on the opposite side of Galloway Rd. waiting to cross at Glenwillow Blvd. This road dead ends on Galloway Rd., across the road from the northeast corner of the park. A path has formed on the park side of the road where people cross.
I feel it would be a good idea to at least have a sign posted ,warning drivers of a pedestrian crossing. But I'm not sure what jurisdiction to approach. I thought I'd check with you, but I'm also checking with the City of Columbus, as the neighborhood it effects is in the city.
Thanks,
Shawn

Been having meeting lately with a few prominent individuals around the area. Looking to bring youth sports back out here. Think that would bring some community longevity and other opportunities for future growth. Also, there isn't a lot kids in the township or vicinity that have an opportunity to develop themselves, drive, goals, self esteem or team work via sports. Folks are taking their kids elsewhere. I am looking to bring, under whatever title, Prairie Township Youth Athletic Association, Galloway Youth Association, or Westland Youth Association, youth sports, i.e. Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, tee ball, flag football, football, Volleyball, wrestling, Lacrosse.
Looking for folks that would like to donate their time to the youth whether it is coaching, car pools, concessions, parking, organizing. There is a big task list and need the right folks to be a part of the movement and vision.
Thank you.

I realize people are not used to speaking in a microphone but if you just instruct them to speak into the mic. I am sure it would resolve the problem. Great idea for the virtual meetings, and more people would attend it that way if they could hear the whole conversation. Thank you .

All it was, they were covering up an old driveway. They have done others in the neighborhood and they have always cleaned it up. They made them stop, they could have let them finish. I was excited to see driveways being cleaned up.
