Prairie Township offers various camp programs throughout the year, including Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Day Camp.

All registrants will need to complete a free Required Medical Questionnaire for each child prior to camp registration. This can be completed at anytime at no cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will daily drop in registration be available for day camp this summer?

A: No, in order to provide a higher quality camp experience to everyone who attends, we have moved away from daily drop-ins to a weekly registration structure. This model provides more consistency for campers and staff, which will result in a more positive camp experience for everyone involved.


Q: How old does my child have to be to enroll in summer day camp?

A: Camp registration is open to children ages 6-12!


Q: What is the cost for weekly registration at camp?

A: The cost per week for Summer Day Camp is $150 for Township residents and $180 for non-residents. The weeks of June 17th and July 1st have been prorated to account for holidays.


Q: When does registration open for Summer Day Camp?

A: Camp registration opens at 8:00 am on Monday, February 12th, for Prairie Township residents and PTCC members. Registration for returning camp families will open at 8:00 am on Wednesday, February 14th. Non-resident registration will open at 8:00 am on Monday, February 19th.


Q: In the event my preferred week fills, can I be placed on a waitlist? 

A: Yes! You can add your camper to the waitlist for any full week. No fees are due at the time you are added to the waitlist. In the event a spot for that week opens, campers will be added to the roster from the waitlist in the order they joined the waitlist. Payment for the camp week will be due at the time you are enrolled from the waitlist.


Q: Do I need to pay for all weeks of camp up front?

A: No. All camp participants are eligible to enroll in our payment plan. An initial processing fee of $30R | $60NR will be required to enroll in the camp payment plan. All payments will be drawn two weeks before your child attends camp. (See payment schedule below).


Q: If I decide not to pay in full, when will my camp payments be deducted?

A: Camp Payments will be drafted on the following dates. If your payment is not received by the date listed, your child’s spot will be forfeited for that week.

Q: What is PTCC’s camp refund policy?

A: A full refund, minus a $15 processing fee, will be given for all refund requests made before Monday, May 20th. After that date, refunds will only be given in the following hardship cases 1.) Relocation/Move outside a 25-mile radius of the PTCC or camp location. 2.) Medical condition, with doctor’s note.


Q: Where will Summer Day Camp be located this year?

A: We are in talks with SWCSD to see what schools will be available this summer! As soon as we have an answer, an email will be sent out, and this page will be updated!


Q: Are there any discounts for multiple children attending camp?

A: Yes! Each additional child will be able to enroll in camp at a 25% discount. ($112R | $135NR)


Q: Will campers be going on field trips this summer? What field trips will campers take?

A: Yes! Campers will be going on five field trips throughout the summer. All field trip costs will be included in your registration fees! On the weeks we don’t attend field trips, we’ll have a variety of special guests visiting us at the campsite!


Q: Is lunch provided for campers?

A: No. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide lunch for campers at this time.


Q: What does my child need to bring to camp?

A: Children should bring a backpack with a water bottle, lunch, snack, and a change of clothes if necessary. On swim days, campers should also pack a swimsuit, towel, goggles (if desired), and a change of clothes. Campers should NOT bring toys from home, money, trading cards, money, or other valuables.


Q: What time does camp open? Does my camper need to attend the entire camp day?

A: Camp opens at 8:00 am each morning and closes at 6:00 pm. Campers do not have to attend the entire camp day and may be dropped off and picked up at any time throughout the day. The main programmed portion of our day takes place from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.


Q: What kind of activities will children take part in at camp?

A: Children will take part in a sport and games, arts and crafts, and STEAM activity each day at camp. Additionally, campers will swim, go on field trips, and take part in an SEL curriculum! An example of our daily camp schedule is below:
