The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering low-interest disaster loans in response to the May 18-19 severe storms and flooding that affected the area. In essence, Businesses of all sizes, Private Non-Profit organizations, Homeowners and Renters in declared counties* and with physical or economic damages stemming from the severe storms and flooding from May 18-19, are encouraged NOT to wait for insurance claims and apply as they may be eligible for Federal Disaster Assistance from SBA.
IMPORTANT: The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Sept. 18, 2020. The deadline to return economic injury applications is April 20, 2021. There are no fees whatsoever to apply for, or withdraw from SBA disaster assistance, nor is there an obligation to take a loan if approved. By submitting an application, survivors secure access to possible financing that can be used as part of their recovery efforts.
